Seth Godin wrote a blog about this topic some years ago and I thought I should share it because it is still relevant in today’s time and it is also very short and simple.
He started by asking, Do you deserve the luck you have been handed? Do you deserve where you were born? Who you were born to? The place you were born, the education you received because of where you were born? Do you deserve the opportunities you have been given? The job you have and the good and bad things life has to offer?
According to Seth, the answer to these loaded questions should be : Not At All. Seth believe that ‘Deserve’ is such a pregnant word. He hold the view that majority of us, do not deserve the wonderful opportunities that we may have enjoy up to this moment.
He challenges us not to think of the question , ‘Do you Deserve It ‘ but wrestle and ponder on ‘What are you going to do with it now that you have got it?’
My own additional questions What have you done with the things you believed you deserved? Where has that gotten you? What would you do with the things that comes your way? How will you impact someone’s life for good or transform your business, family life or work life for good?
It so easy to think and believe it is because of Inez’s merits that all the great things happen, I will challenge you to look back to some areas where you have been most successful and I hope you get to see how it was not just about you, your goodness that got you where you are.
My last question: Who do you have to thank for where you are today other than yourself? I hope you send a note, make a call or do something to say thank you to the people who may have helped you become who you are today.
I am thankful for you. Thank you for clicking on my blog and giving it some seconds and minutes of your day.
